The Fair Representative is responsible for submitting their entries on-line, bringing all the artwork to the fairgrounds, and retrieving the artwork from the fairgrounds. Individual entries must be submitted in a student's name and class projects must be submitted in a teacher's name.Only school work done at school and/or in connection with school may be exhibited. Entries shown in a previous Charles County Fair are not eligible for this year's fair. All entries are to be screened at the school and only the best work should be submitted. There is no need to make an entry if high standards are not met. Students need to have their hours documented by getting a Student Parent Packet from middle or high school guidance counselors. EXHIBIT DELIVERY INFORMATION: Exhibits are to be delivered to the Fairgrounds according to the following schedule: K - 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 15th.Entries will not be accepted after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. All entries must go through the school's fair representative. All entries should be made on-line prior to the being delivered to the fairgrounds. Exhibits will not be accepted from private individuals. All exhibits will be screened for correct spelling, size, and proper format by the fair committee. Exhibits that do not meet the criteria will not be displayed.EXHIBIT REMOVAL INFORMATION - Monday, September 20, 2010Exhibits are to be picked up by a school's faculty member from the School Exhibit Building between the hours of 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m. Security personnel at the schools exhibit building will not release any exhibits before Monday, September 21, 2009. Class 4 – Recycle and Reuse “Use It Again” Individual ProjectClass 5 – Recycle and Reuse “Use It Again” Group ProjectRecycle and reuse is the most recent classification to be added to the Charles County Public Schools County Fair Exhibit. You are encouraged to participate in this worthy activity raise awareness of students, teachers and the community by using normally discarded objects for the creation of sculpture. Some of the environmental and economic benefits that recycling provides are preventing waste of useful materials, reducing energy usage, and reducing air and water pollution by cutting back the need for conventional waste disposal.Students in all grade levels are encouraged to take previously used materials and create art. Recyclable materials can consist of glass, paper, metal, and plastic just to name a few. The materials that can be used are materials that are allowed on school property.Artwork submitted to the fair should be able to endure the elements of weather. These items may sit outside. High school teachers have the option to submit their student’s work to the Rethink Recycle Sculpture Contest at the state level sponsored by Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) in Baltimore which usually takes place in October of each year.
